WRWA Seeking Donations The Wisconsin Regional Writers Association has only two sources of income-dues and the small margins above expenses from our two annual conferences. Contests generally lose money, even though our prizes are very small. We'd like to be able to provide more services to members and to expand the range of activities open to members. And, we need to be able to spend more on building up the membership rolls. As a non-profit literary organization, the Wisconsin Regional Writers Association is a 501©(3) tax exempt organization. As such, any donations you make above and beyond your membership dues are considered charitable donations and may be reported as such on your tax return. We'd like to encourage members and friends of the Association to donate to the WRWA. All donations will be used solely to improve the range of services and activities available to WRWA members, for recruiting more members, and other activities designed to make your Association stronger and improve its stature as a community of serious writers. There are many approaches to donation, from simply donating a specific sum, to underwriting the cost of a contest or an edition or The Wisconsin Regional Writer, to creating an endowment. Funds may be donated or bequeathed as a part of your estate. You will see more information in the Journal regarding these options in coming editions. Please feel free to contact President Don Schambow, Treasurer Jim Williams, any of the Contest Chairs, or the Journal Editor if you are interested in more information about underwriting a specific activity. Their contact information is listed on page xx. For straight donations, suggested amounts are as follows, but any level would be helpful. $25 Special Member $50 Gold Member $100 Centurion $500 Sponsor $1,000 Patron Donations may be enclosed with your membership application or renewal and sent to the Membership Secretary, or may be sent at any time to the Treasurer. Checks should be made out to WRWA, Inc. and "Donation" should be in the memo line. Include a specific activity if your donation is targeted to one. Please support the growth of the Wisconsin Regional Writers Association and help make it stronger by your generous donations. |
